Creating a Team-based Kanban Board

Modified on Thu, 15 Sep, 2022 at 4:10 PM

In Projectal, you can create Kanban boards for your teams such as:

  • Department Kanban boards
  • Location Kanban boards
  • Company Kanban boards
  • Skills Kanban boards
  • Subtask Kanban boards
  • And more.

To create a team-based Kanban board, you simply need to create a data view that lists all the tasks that you are interested in.

Example: By creating a data view that listed all tasks that required Animation skills, then the Animation department would have a team-based Kanban board that they could use and collaborate on.

After creating the data view that lists the tasks, the data view will automatically have a Kanban Board tab on the data view and would list all the tasks as cards in their columns.

The data view's Kanban board will list all the task stages as columns for the tasks' projects.  You are only permitted to move cards into the columns (or task stages) that the project has defined.

Tip: It may be a good idea for your company to agree on a common set of task stages for your projects so that you do not see many stages appearing in your data view's Kanban Boards.
