Moving Cards in a Kanban Board

Modified on Sat, 08 Oct 2022 at 06:00 PM

Once you have your Kanban board up and running, then you will want to start moving the cards (or tasks) between the columns.

Using your mouse, click on a card and drag it to the desired column.

Or, hover your mouse over a card and click the small arrows on the left and right of the card to move the card to the left or right column.

Backlog Column

The Backlog column is a special column that appears on all Kanban boards in Projectal.  It lists all the cards (or tasks) that are not yet in another column on your Kanban board and do not yet have a progress value of 100% (i.e. are not yet completed).

The Backlog column lets you find and move unfinished cards (or tasks) when they are ready to be started to be worked on by your staff.

Archive Task Column

The Archive Task column is a special column that appears on all Kanban boards in Projectal.  It lets you move cards off your Kanban board.

Typically, as you progress through a project, Kanban boards can collect many completed cards (or tasks).  This can result in a large, cluttered Kanban Board.  From time-to-time, you may want to move some of the older completed tasks from your Kanban board.  You can do this by simply moving the card onto the Archive Task column.
