You may want to have different sets of stages for projects, bookings, tasks and activities. This can be accomplished by setting the entity tags for the stage.
Example: You would like only bookings have the these 3 stages - "Pending", "Approved" and "Rejected". For each of these stages, you would simply add the BOOKING entity tag to their definition in the Edit Stage screen.
To associate a stage with an entity (such as project):
- Go to the Management screen and click on the Stages button.
- On the Stages screen, edit the stage you wish to associate with a certain entity type (such as project).
- On the Edit Stage screen, click the Edit Entity Tag button and select the entity type you wish to associate the stage with.
- Click OK to save the stage.
- Now this stage will be listed for that entity only.
Tip: You can associate an stage with multiple entity types - such as project, booking, task and activity.
Tip: If you have stages with no selected entity types, then they will be listed for all entity types (assuming there are no stages that have entity tags).
Advanced Tagging
You can use your own tags when defining a stage to create different sets of stages for particular types of projects, bookings, tasks and activities.
For example, lets say you wanted a set of stages for your animation projects to be "Bidding", "Awarded", "Turnover" and "Completed". And, for your virtual production projects, you wanted the set of stages to be "Ready", "In Progress" and "Client Sign-off".
For each of these stages, you would add the PROJECT entity tag by clicking the Add Entity Tag button on the Edit Stage screen.
For the animation project stages, you would add "Animation" as a tag to these stages on the Edit Stage screen. For the virtual production project stages, you would add "virtual production" to these stages on the Edit Stage screen.
Whenever you create a new animation project, on the Edit Project screen, you simply add "Animation" as a tag, and then only the animation related stages will be listed.
Whenever you create a new virtual production project, on the Edit Project screen, you simply add "Virtual Production" as a tag, and then only the virtual production related stages will be listed.
You can apply this advanced tagging technique to all entities that use stages - namely projects, bookings, tasks and activities.
