Companies are the organizations that use Projectal. You can add as many companies into Projectal as you like.
Each company that you add into Projectal can have its own departments, staff, locations and projects.
When you create a project, you assign one or more companies that are going to work on the project. The staff from these companies become the staff pool for the project.
Types of Companies
Note: The Primary Company is the company that licenses Projectal.
In addition to the Primary Company, the other types of companies that can be added into Projectal are:
- Subsidiaries
- Contractors
- Partners
- Affiliates
- Offices
Tip: You can change the names and number of company types to match the way your company works using the Lists screen.
Example Usage: Group Companies
If your company is a group company, then your group company would license Projectal and you would add all your subsidiary companies into Projectal so you have visibility over all projects with the group company and its subsidiaries.
Example Usage: Outsourced Contractors or Partner Companies
If your company outsources work to other companies, or your company partners with other companies on projects, then you can add these outsourced companies and partner companies into Projectal so you can track progress on their work in projects just like you would for your own staff.
Drilling into a Particular Company
If you have added multiple companies into your Projectal, then you can easily change to another company by clicking the company avatar or company name text located at the top center of Projectal. Once clicked, this will display a list of companies to select from. Once a company has been selected, then Projectal will show only the projects, departments and staff for that company and any companies below it.
