What are Users in Projectal?

Modified on Fri, 09 Jun 2023 at 04:15 PM

A user is defined as any person that that can log into your Projectal.  Users could include:

  • Staff from within your company
  • Staff from your subsidiaries
  • Staff from partner companies or outsourced companies
  • Contractors, freelancers or consultants
  • Customers

Each user must have a unique email address.

Note: You are limited to the maximum number of users contained in your company's Projectal license.  For example, if your company has a subscription for a 500 user license for Projectal, then 500 user accounts can be created in Projectal.

You can view or increase or decrease the maximum number of users in your Projectal license by accessing the Projectal Customer Portal - https://accounts.projectal.com.  You will need account details to do this.

Access Policy & Permissions

Each user account has an access policy and a set of permissions that lets you decide exactly what the user is permitted to do and what data they are allowed to see in Projectal.  It is important to ensure that your users can only access features in Projectal that matches their roles and responsibilities.

Users vs. Staff

Staff are the people that you assign to tasks in projects.  You can add as many staff into Projectal as you wish - no matter your Projectal license.

Users are the people you want to log into Projectal and use Projectal.  You can only add as many users into Projectal that matches the number of users in your Projectal license.

Example #1: Your company has 1000 staff and you want all your staff to use Projectal to gain the benefits company-wide.  All 1000 staff will be added into Projectal as staff so that your company can assign them to projects and tasks.  You license Projectal for 1000 user accounts and you create 1000 user accounts in Projectal for all your staff so they can access Projectal.

Example #2: Your company has 1000 staff.  All 1000 staff will be added into Projectal as staff so that your company can assign them to projects and tasks.  You license Projectal for 300 user accounts and you create 300 user accounts in Projectal just for the people that you want to access Projectal.
