What are User Views in Projectal?

Modified on Mon, 12 Aug at 3:02 PM

Users views are a way for you to save your favorite layout, settings and filters for a screen in Projectal so you can quickly recall them at any time.  You can save as many user views as you like.  This is a very handy way to see the data you need to see in many different ways.

Example: On The Tasks screen, you want to have different views for different roles such as project managers, producers, artists, etc.  So, in Projectal, you create a user view for each role and update each user with that user view.

Example: On the Staff Planner, you want to have different views so you can see department utilization, project loads, new booking requests, over allocations, etc.

Example: On the Management / Staff screen, you want to see all staff, full time staff, freelancers, active staff, staff in Vancouver, etc.

User views are located on each Projectal screen's toolbar.  You will see the (highlighted) User View toolbar button as follows:

When you click on this toolbar button, you will able to:

  • Create a new user view
  • Update your user view
  • Share your user view
  • Make your user view the default view
  • Delete your user view

You can share your user views with selected Projectal users, or you can share your user views with all Projectal users.

You can make a user view the default user view for all new users or for selected existing users.
