Certain items of data in Projectal cannot be added, changed or deleted in your sandbox in a private manner. It is important that you know which data is not private in your sandbox.
For the following items of data, any change you make to them will appear in the live Projectal and not in your sandbox. This means you cannot make private changes in sandboxes to the following data points in Projectal.
- Access Policies
- Files and Folders
- Stages
- Users
Example: You are in your sandbox and you change the permissions in an access policy. This change is actually made in the live Projectal and not in your sandbox.
Example: You have uploaded a file into your sandbox. This file will not be displayed in the list of files in your sandbox. However, it will appear in the list of files in the live Projectal.
For the following items of data, any change you make to them will appear in your sandbox, the live Projectal and all other sandboxes. This means you cannot make private changes in sandboxes to the following data points in Projectal.
- Custom Fields
- Data Views
- Languages
- Lists - Company type
- Lists - Complexity
- Lists - Currency
- Lists - Priority
- Lists - Skill Level
- Lists - Staff Type
- User Views
- Webhooks
Example: You have added a new custom field in your sandbox. This custom field will be listed in your sandbox, the live Projectal and all other sandboxes.
Example: You have changed a Skill Level name from "Senior" to "Lead" in the Lists screen in your sandbox. This change will be seen in your sandbox, the live Projectal and all other sandboxes.
Example: You have created a new data view report in your sandbox and shared it as Public. This data view will be seen in your sandbox, the live Projectal and all other sandboxes.
Projectal notifies you on the relevant screens by displaying a banner warning when you try to change one of these items whilst you are in your sandbox. For example, the Files screen has the following warning when you are in a sandbox:
