Viewing Unders, Optimal and Overs

Modified on Fri, 9 Jun, 2023 at 4:16 PM

When viewing the utilization load of your resources in Resource Planner, you may only want to see under allocations or over allocations.  This lets you have a clearer picture of the resourcing issues you are trying to address.

The Filter menu on the Resource Planner toolbar lets you hide or show the following:

  • Unders
  • Optimal
  • Overs

Unders

Unders are under allocations and they are when your resources have spare capacity to be used on more projects and tasks.  Resource Planner considers an under allocation for any cell that has 75% or less task allocation for the resource.

Optimal

Optimal are having the right amount of allocation for the resource to be able to use them comfortably.  Resource Planner considers an optimal allocation for any cell that has between 76% to 100% task allocation for the resource.

Overs

Overs are over allocations and they are when your resources are being used too much.  This is a risk to the company that the resource may not be available for the assigned tasks at the time allocated.  Resource Planner considers an over allocation for any cell that has 101% or over task allocation for the resource.
