The Staff screen is where you can add, edit, duplicate, remove, import and export staff and generic in Projectal.
Getting to the Staff screen
- Go to the Management screen by clicking Management on the left sidebar.
- Click the Staff button to display the Staff screen.
- The Staff screen has 3 tabs - List, Org Chart and Generic.
Staff (List tab)
The List tab displays a list of all the actual staff in your company.
Staff (List tab) toolbar
The Staff (List tab) screen toolbar has the following buttons:
- Add - to add a new staff
- Edit - to edit the selected staff
- Delete - to delete the selected staff
- Duplicate - to make a copy of the selected staff
- Import - to import a list of staff from a spreadsheet or PDF file
- Export - to export the list of staff to an Excel spreadsheet (XLS) file
- Quick Search - to search and filter the list of staff using some text
- Filter - to search and filter the list of staff using fields
- User Views - to save and recall your favorite user views on this screen
- Color By - to color the list of staff by the designated color of a selected data attribute
Select the Show individual contracts checkbox is you wish to list all the contracts for each staff member during the selected date range. When unchecked, you will only see each staff member listed once - even if they have multiple contracts during the date range.
Select a date range from Dates that you wish to see the staff employed at the company. If you select a custom date range, then click the Refresh button to update the list of staff.
Example: Select Today from Dates to see all staff employed at the company today.
Example: Select Last Year from Dates to see all staff that were employed at the company during last year.
Editing Staff
Double-click on a cell to edit a value for the staff.
Select a cell and copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the values into another cell.
Select a cell and drag the right side corner of the cell to fill down the value into other cells.
Select a cell and press the DEL key to delete the value from the cell.
Tip: Click on the Options menu in the column headers to choose which columns you wish to hide or show in the list.
Tip: Click on a column header to sort the list ascending or descending.
Staff (Org Chart tab)
The Org Chart tab displays a list of all the actual staff and generic staff in their departments of your company.

The Staff (Org Chart tab) screen toolbar has the following buttons:
- Add - to add a new staff
- Edit - to edit the selected staff
- Delete - to delete the selected staff
- Duplicate - to make a copy of the selected staff
- Export - to export the list of staff to an Excel spreadsheet (XLS) file
- Quick Search - to search and filter the list of staff using some text
- Filter - to search and filter the list of staff using fields
- User Views - to save and recall your favorite user views on this screen
Select the Actual Staff checkbox to list actual staff employed at your company.
Select the Generic Staff checkbox to list generic staff.
