To edit a resource into Projectal, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the Management screen by clicking Management on the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Resources button to display the Resources screen.
  3. Select a resource and click the Edit button on the Resources screen toolbar.
  4. This will display the Edit Resource screen.

Turn on the Lock switch to stop any editing by users.  Turn off the Lock switch to allow editing by users.

Name

Enter the name of the resource.

ID

Enter an optional identifier of the resource.  It could be the short code for the resource.

Description

Enter a description for the resource.

Cost

Enter the cost of the resource.  If there is no cost associated with this resource then you can leave it as 0.

Color

Click the color swatch to set or clear the color for the resource.  The color can used in other screens to highlight items by resource.

Currency

Enter the currency of the cost of the resource.  For example, USD or EURO or GBP or CAD or AUD.

Tip: You can change the list of currencies to match those used by your company using the Lists screen.

Frequency

Enter the frequency when the cost payment for the resource is incurred.  For example, per year or per month or per week or per day or per hour.

Quota

Enter the number of units of this resource that you have in the company.  Projectal uses this information to alert you in the Resource Planner when you have availability of the resource or are overusing the resource.

Example: Your company has 25 LED screens that are used on virtual production projects.  You would add an "LED screen" resource into Projectal and set the quota to be 25.  The Resource Planner in Projectal will tell you when you have LED screens available or when you have exceeded the 25 units.

Tags

Select tags or type in tags to help categorize or classify the resource.   There are two ways to add tags:

  • Click the Add Tag button to display the Tags screen.  Select tags from your existing collection of tags and they will be associated with the resource.
  • Or, click inside the Tags editor and a new empty tag will be displayed.  Type in the name of the tag you want and press Enter to save the new tag. As you type your tag name, a list of existing tags that partially match the typed text will be displayed and you can choose one of them for faster tag entry.

Files

Click the Add File button to display the Files screen.  Select a file attach to the resource.  Multiple files can be attached a resource.

Notes

Click the Add Note button to add a note about the resource.  You can add as many notes as you like.  They are listed chronologically.
