Searching for Tasks

Modified on Thu, 20 Jun at 3:00 PM

On the Tasks screen and Gantt screen, there are two ways you can search the list of tasks in a project to find exactly the tasks you wish to see or manage.

Quick Search

Hover your mouse over the Quick Search icon on the toolbar on Tasks screen or Gantt screen and you will be able to enter in a search term.  Projectal will search through all the tasks in the project that have that search term.

Example: You wish to find all the "animation" tasks. Simply enter "animation" into the Quick Search edit box and Projectal will list all the animation tasks.

Tip: Projectal will search through many task fields to find tasks matching the search term.  Fields include name, description, assigned staff, assigned resources, skills and more.

Filter

Hover you mouse over the Filter icon on the toolbar on the Tasks screen or Gantt screen.

Click the Add Filter button to add a filter.

Click the icon on a filter to remove that filter.

Tip: You can add several filters to create complex searches to find exactly the set of tasks you wish to see and manage.

Example: You can to add a filter that lists all tasks with a Stage of 'Pending' and Assigned Staff of 'Sally Watson' and a Priority of 'High'.
