Editing a Customer

To edit a customer into Projectal, follow these steps:


  1. Go to the Management screen by clicking Management on the left sidebar.
  2. Click the Customers button to display the Customers screen.
  3. Select a customer and click the Edit button on the Customers screen toolbar.
  4. This will display the Edit Customer screen.




Lock

Turn on the Lock switch to stop any editing by users.  Turn off the Lock switch to allow editing by users.


Customer Avatar

Click the Pencil icon to add or change the customer avatar (or logo).  This will display the Files screen and allow you to select a file that you have uploaded into Projectal.


Click the Delete icon to remove the customer avatar.


Customer Banner

Click the Pencil icon to add or change the customer banner.  This will display the Files screen and allow you to select a file that you have uploaded into Projectal.


Click the Delete icon to remove the customer banner.


Name

Enter the name of the customer.


ID

Enter an optional identifier of the customer.  It could be the short code for the customer.


Nickname

Enter the nickname of the customer.  A nickname is a commonly used descriptive name for the customer.


Color

Click the color swatch to set or clear the color for the customer.  The color can used in other screens to highlight items by customer.


Description

Enter a description for the customer.


Tags

Select tags or type in tags to help categorize or classify the customer.   There are two ways to add tags:

  • Click the Add Tag button to display the Tags screen.  Select tags from your existing collection of tags and they will be associated with the customer.
  • Or, click inside the Tags editor and a new empty tag will be displayed.  Type in the name of the tag you want and press Enter to save the new tag. As you type your tag name, a list of existing tags that partially match the typed text will be displayed and you can choose one of them for faster tag entry.


Location

Click the Add Location button to display the Locations screen.  Select a location of the customer to designate its location.


Websites

Enter a website URL for the customer.


Click the Add button to add another website URL.


Click the Delete button to remove the website URL.


Socials

Enter a social media URL for the customer.


Click the Add button to add another social media  URL.


Click the Delete button to remove the social media  URL.


Contacts

Contacts are the people that you want to keep in contact with at the customer.


Click the Add Contact button to add a customer contact.  This will display the New Contact screen.


Click on an existing contact to edit the contact.  This will display the Edit Contact screen.


Click the Delete Contact button to remove the selected customer contact.


Files

Click the Add File button to display the Files screen.  Select a file attach to the customer.  Multiple files can be attached a customer.


Notes

Click the Add Note button to add a note about the customer.  You can add as many notes as you like.  They are listed chronologically.




Contact Avatar

Click the Pencil icon to add or change the contact avatar.  This will display the Files screen and allow you to select a file that you have uploaded into Projectal.


Click the Delete icon to remove the contact avatar.


Contact Banner

Click the Pencil icon to add or change the contact banner.  This will display the Files screen and allow you to select a file that you have uploaded into Projectal.


Click the Delete icon to remove the contact banner.


First Name

Enter the first name of the contact.


ID

Last Name

Enter the last name of the contact.


Position

Enter the position of the contact.  For example, "General Manager".


Company

Enter the company name of the contact.  Typically it will be the same as the customer name, but it could be different for consultants or freelancers.


Location

Click the Add Location button to display the Locations screen.  Select a location of the contact to designate the person's location.


Phone Numbers

Enter a phone number for the contact.


Click the Add button to add another phone number.


Click the Delete button to remove the phone number.


Emails

Enter an email for the contact.


Click the Add button to add another email.


Click the Delete button to remove the email.


Websites

Enter a website URL for the contact.


Click the Add button to add another website URL.


Click the Delete button to remove the website URL.


Socials

Enter a social media URL for the contact.


Click the Add button to add another social media  URL.


Click the Delete button to remove the social media  URL.


Notes

Click the Add Note button to add a note about the contact.  You can add as many notes as you like.  They are listed chronologically.
