Skills allow Projectal to help you assign the right staff to tasks in your projects. Using skills, Projectal can ranks staff from your available staff pool and recommend which staff are best suited to be assigned to a task. This takes the guesswork out of staff resourcing.
You add the skills into Projectal that match the skills of your staff. For example, for a VFX or animation studios, the skills of staff may be - layout, effects, animation, rigging, roto, compositing, modeling and more.
Skill Levels
By default, Projectal includes 3 skill levels - Junior, Mid and Senior. You can use these skills levels to designate how much experience or talent each staff member has, and also designate how much experience or talent of a skill is required to complete a task.
Example 1: John may have mid-level skills at effects and senior level skills at compositing.
Example 2: On the Ziggy and the Whale project, Shot-9450 requires senior level rigging skills.
Tip: You can change the names and number of skill levels to match the way your company works using the Lists screen.
Using Skills
You can as many skills into Projectal as you like. Once you have added skills into Projectal, then you can start assigning these skills into two areas:
- Staff: You can assign skills and their skill level to each staff member. This helps you build a skills map of your team and Projectal uses it to automatically identify the best people to assign to tasks in projects.
- Tasks: You can assign the required skills and the required skill level in your tasks. This helps you know what skills are required to complete tasks in your projects. Projectal uses this information to automatically find and recommend staff to be assigned to these tasks.
